Pakistan Deep Concerns Over Escalating Crisis in Syria

Pakistan has expressed grave concerns over the latest developments in Syria and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized the urgent need to address these crises, highlighting the dire consequences for civilians and the region’s stability.

Speaking in Islamabad, the spokesperson condemned the indiscriminate killing of civilians in Gaza, particularly at food distribution centers, hospitals, and refugee shelters. She stressed that the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza demands immediate international intervention.

United Nations Resolution on Palestine Welcomed by Pakistan

Pakistan has lauded the United Nations General Assembly’s recent resolution urging Israel to withdraw from Palestinian territories and calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The spokesperson reiterated that the genocide in Gaza must cease immediately, as it not only violates international humanitarian law but also threatens to exacerbate instability across the Middle East.

Regional Stability in Syria is Critical

Baloch expressed concerns about the broader implications of the crisis in Syria, warning that ongoing instability could embolden terrorist organizations and further destabilize the region.

Pakistan has called for intensified international efforts to de-escalate the situation in Syria. The spokesperson underlined the importance of upholding Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity to foster long-term peace in the region.

Alarming Developments in Indian-Occupied Kashmir

Turning her attention to Kashmir, Baloch highlighted Pakistan’s unease over the continued seizure of properties belonging to Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

She referenced the recent confiscation of properties of 13 individuals in Kishtwar District, describing these actions as part of a systematic campaign to intimidate and suppress the Kashmiri people.

“These confiscations are designed to punish Kashmiris for their dissenting political views and are a blatant violation of their basic human rights,” she said.

Pakistan’s Support for Kashmir Remains Unwavering

The spokesperson reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination. She urged Indian authorities to halt the seizure of Kashmiri properties and respect their international obligations as an occupying power.

Pakistan will continue to extend political, diplomatic, and moral support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their pursuit of a just and peaceful resolution in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
